Joanovitch Paul (1859-1957)
He was born in Vrsac, Serbia, 1859. His father was a famous photographer in the town. In 1877, Joanovitch was admitted to a painting class at the Academy of Vienna. He studied in Vienna and Munich until 1886 when he travelled to Paris, then to Egypt, Turkey and the Caucasus. Joanovitch made his renown for his Orientalist subjects. He died in Vienna, Austria on 1957.
