Jules Worms (1832-1924)
Jules Worms ( Paris , 1832 - Paris , 1924 ) was a French painter.
He began his artistic career as an illustrator of satirical newspapers and lithographer. In 1849 he entered the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris where he was a disciple of Adolf Lafosse . From 1860 he began a series of long journeys in Spain , a country for whom he felt a strong attraction as happened to many other romantic painters of his time. In 1871 he spent 6 months in Granada in the company of his friend the painter Mariano Fortunywhom he had met in Paris.
His work can be seen in the Museum of Fine Arts in Nancy , Museum of Fine Arts in Rennes , Legion of Honor Museum in San Francisco and numerous private collections, such as the Bellver Collection in Seville .
